De-Watering to Minimise Waste

Waste minimisation is an essential responsibility for all waste producers. Reducing the volume of waste for off site disposal is not only environmentally preferable, it can have the added advantage of reducing costs.

With an average waste volume reduction of approximately 5 to 1, de-watering represents a significant decrease in the amount of waste for off site disposal and a substantial reduction both transport and disposal costs.

De-watering services

Our Mobile De-watering Units have been built to our own unique specification. Developed over years of experience, operating throughout the U.K., these units are suitable for any industrial application that requires solids separation and filtration. Each machine is based upon a 40ft, (13m) curtain-sided container, mounted on a dedicated skeletal trailer.

The Mobile Filter Presses feature their own on-board hydraulic system, enabling the press to lift itself off the trailer and sit high enough for a standard roll-on-off bin to be placed underneath.

The key benefits of this process include:-

  • filter cake drops directly into bins, without the use of troublesome conveyors
  • a cleaner and more efficient operation.
  • high volume capability, each producing between 4½ and 6 tonnes of filter cake per cycle, (depending upon the specific gravity of the liquid/solids being processed.)
  • Every aspect of the de watering process is monitored via log sheets.

Assisted separation

There are occasions when the addition of a polyelectrolyte is required to assist separation of the liquids and solids. Our own trailer mounted polymer-dosing system works in conjunction with, or independently of, our mobile filtration equipment.

Assessing the operation.

Our management team can assess and arrange all aspects of the de-watering operation. Using our own experienced operators we can arrange the installation operation and removal of the equipment and therby minimise on site disruption. We also have the experience and expertise to build and operate temporary in-line treatment plants, to work in conjunction with our mobile de-watering units.

3000 tonnes of waste in the lagoon reduces to 600 tonnes of filter cake.

We can formulate a package to suit your requirements. Our mobile units are suitable for:-
  • processing lagoons
  • tanks
  • any stored waste
  • ideal for temporary cover for breakdowns/refurbishment
  • replacement of equipment
  • pilot trials.
  • long or short-term hire, with or without operators
